Bukhara Uzbekistan

Bukhara is one of the oldest cities in Central Asia and was historically one of the great trading centers along the Silk Road. Its city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For a long period, the Bukhara region was part of the Persian Empire. Among its highlights, the Kalyan Minaret—one of Bukhara’s wonders—was built to summon Muslims to prayer five times a day, and the Khoja-Gaukushon complex is one of the city’s largest ensembles, including a mosque, minaret, and madrasah.
