  • Discover authentic Patagonian ranch life, learning about gaucho traditions, sheep shearing, and enjoying traditional estancia hospitality

Day 1: EL CALAFATE: AUTHENTIC PATAGONIAN RANCH EXPERIENCE

At approximately 8:30 am, pick-up from your hotel and transfer to Nibepo Aike Ranch, a place that preserves the essence of a traditional Patagonian estancia. Originally known as La Jerónima, the ranch spans over 12,000 hectares, bordered by the Southern Arm of Lake Argentino and the Chilean border, with the Andes Mountains as a stunning backdrop. Dedicated primarily to cattle farming with a Hereford herd, and featuring remnants from the golden age of sheep farming, Nibepo Aike offers an authentic insight into rural Patagonian life. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with drinks and pastries before beginning a guided visit of the ranch.

During the tour, you will learn about its main livestock activities while enjoying views of Lake Argentino, lenga and ñire forests, and the local wildlife, including woodpeckers and eagles. The visit also includes demonstrations and insights into traditional sheep shearing and riding practices.

The experience continues with a walk through the ranch’s vegetable garden, which supplies much of the produce used on-site, before arriving at the quincho. Here, the Asador will be preparing a traditional Patagonian lamb, ready to be enjoyed while taking in the breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains.

Overnight in El Calafate.

Day 2: EL CALAFATE: PERITO MORENO GLACIER

At approximately 9:30 am, pick-up from your hotel and departure for a unique experience at the Perito Moreno Glacier, designed to avoid the crowds and enjoy this natural wonder in a more relaxed and intimate setting. Travel will take place in a small vehicle to the national park, accompanied by a specialized guide who will share insights about the surrounding landscape and ecosystem.

Upon arrival at the National Park, you will have time to take in the spectacular views of the Perito Moreno Glacier from the walkways, and enjoy a gourmet packed lunch in this extraordinary setting. Guests may also choose to enhance the experience with an optional one-hour boat ride, offering a closer view of the glacier’s towering ice wall.

Before returning to the hotel, the journey includes a stop at a traditional Patagonian rest point with panoramic views, where a delicious snack will be served. During this stop, you will also enjoy a tasting of Argentine mate, a cultural tradition deeply rooted in local life.

This excursion is designed to offer an unforgettable experience of the Perito Moreno Glacier, combining comfort, exclusivity, and attentive service throughout the journey.

Comfortable clothing is recommended for the tours, while for the winter period (April to October) the use of warm clothing and layers is recommended. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hat can be very useful during your stay.
