Day 7
port allen, kauai, hawaiian
Arrival: 09:00 - Departure: 18:00
Kauaʻi, often called the “Garden Island”, is the lush, quieter cousin of the better-known Hawaiian islands. Covered in emerald valleys, jagged cliffs, and dense rainforests, it has a slower pace that suits travellers looking for nature, peace and quiet, and genuine local culture. From the moment you arrive, the island’s small towns, farmers’ markets, and lack of high-rise buildings set the scene for a more intimate Hawaiian experience. On the north shore, Hanalei Bay is a real highlight, with its crescent of golden sand backed by waterfalls and taro fields. It’s ideal for swimming, surfing lessons, and evening strolls along the pier, while nearby Princeville offers scenic viewpoints and golf courses set high above the ocean. Further west, the famous Nāpali Coast delivers some of Kauaʻi’s most iconic scenery—towering sea cliffs and hidden valleys best experienced on a boat tour, by helicopter, or on demanding coastal hikes. In the island’s interior, Waimea Canyon, often called the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”, has sweeping viewpoints and a network of trails ranging from handy walks to tough treks. Next door, Kōkeʻe State Park brings cooler temperatures and misty forests, great for bird‑watching and getting away from the coastal heat. On the sunny south shore, Poʻipū is the main resort area, with family‑friendly beaches, snorkelling spots, and a good chance of seeing sea turtles and monk seals resting on the sand. Kauaʻi is best enjoyed at an easy pace, so hiring a car is strongly recommended to reach walking trails, out‑of‑the‑way beaches, and small local places to eat along the main road. Pack for changeable weather—showers are common but usually short, especially in the wetter north. Beyond the dramatic scenery, the island’s real appeal is in its local way of life: plate lunches from roadside stalls, slack‑key guitar at sunset, and chats with locals who are proud caretakers of their land and traditions.

It's also a major hub for international business, military defence, as well as famously being host to a diverse variety of east-west and Pacific culture, cuisine, and traditions. The most important places to visit in Honolulu are: Kane'ohe, Polynesian Cultural Center, Bishop Museum and Planetarium, Pearl Harbor, Iolani Palace, Capitol District, Waikiki Oceanfront and Honolulu Academy of the Arts. Honolulu has sunny skies, crystal blue water, white-sand beaches, slack key guitars at sunset, and lots of hula dancing that represent the Aloha spirit.

Day 16
victoria, british columbia
Arrival: 09:00 - Departure: 18:00
Victoria sits in a lovely waterfront setting at the southern tip of nature-blessed Vancouver Island. It has kept its Commonwealth roots more strongly than almost anywhere else in Canada, and many see it as the most British city in North America. Founded in 1843 as a Hudson’s Bay trading post, its colonial past has been carefully preserved and continuously restored with great care. Alongside this colonial heritage, Victoria is deeply proud of its much older story. The city remains the home of the Lekwungen People, also known as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations, whose culture and history are still very much woven into daily life. Victoria’s historic city centre is a textbook example of how to protect architectural character while keeping everything spotless. Add to that a wide choice of places to eat and drink, a lively nightlife and cultural scene, and excellent shopping. With the mildest climate in Canada and flowers in bloom for most of the year, Victoria is seen as the jewel of the west coast and is fondly known as the City of Gardens. Compact, charming and relaxed, Victoria offers a cheerful, laid-back atmosphere surrounded by stunning natural scenery. It’s no surprise that visitors are drawn here and tend to leave singing its praises.
