Valletta is known as one of the most densely packed historic areas in the world, with its 7,000 years of history. It's no surprise then, that the City of Valletta was officially recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980. Built by the knights of St John in the 16th and 17th centuries for military and strategic reasons, Valletta was later spruced up into a fine example of baroque decorative art – most notably in the magnificent interiors of St John’s Co-Cathedral in the heart of the city. Shady atmospheric alleyways link grand squares, and grand palazzi sit alongside pubs and shops. Recently, the city has seen some major changes to create a more vibrant urbanity, with the renovation of the main City Gate and the design of a new parliament building, as well as the renovation of the bombed-out Opera House. Valletta's natural deep water port, the Grand Harbour, is the biggest and the most impressive harbour in all the Mediterranean and was, for many thousands of years, the epicentre of Malta’s maritime activity. Evidence of this are the 19 historical warehouses still standing dating back 250 years and the historic Quay Wall, where the Knights of St John and European merchants used to unload their goods. The Valletta Waterfront is also the gateway to Malta’s capital city. In fact, as one of the most successful Mediterranean ports, the Port of Valletta welcomes more than half-a-million cruise passengers into this open air museum. Recently, the waterfront has been revitalised into an attractive and vibrant gateway of shops, pubs and restaurants. It’s particularly romantic at night when lit up. There are loads of outdoor pursuits to enjoy thanks to the city’s moderate climate. From diving to sailing, cycling to rock climbing, there are a number of different adrenalin-busting options to satisfy adventurous holidaymakers. Just don't expect Valletta to be buzzing all night, its tranquility is a large part of its charm.

Messina is located in the northeast of Sicily, Italy. It's only a 5 km journey across the Straits of Messina to the region of Calabria on the mainland. It's the third largest city on the island of Sicily. Trips by land and sea allow for the exploration of every nook and cranny of the Aeolian Islands, abundant with beaches and small coves where one can pause to explore, even if just for a few hours. The active volcano, Mt. Etna, towers over the landscape and reveals a vegetation interrupted by trails of black, solidified lava flows. Caves and varying environments alternate along its slopes; traverse them to reach the peak, where a large "mouth of fire" awaits. A definite must-see is Pollara Beach on the island of Salina; Pollara was created by a crater formed by the six volcanoes that make up Salina, around 13,000 years ago. The Ancient Theatre, one of the greatest of the Greek-Roman era, is nestled in a spread of olive, orange and almond groves that fill the air with their exotic scents.

Heraklion is the capital of Crete and usually the starting point for holiday visitors wishing to explore the island. With about 130,000 inhabitants, it is the fifth largest town in Greece. The city is marked by different influences of Venetians, Saracens, and Greeks. History is very much alive in Heraklion, just like in most Greek cities. All around the old part of the city, a visitor can walk following the old Venetian walls that meet at a bastion called Koules Fortress, which dominates the old harbour of the city. The Venetians began the construction of the city walls in 1462, and they took more than a century to complete. The walls are about 4 km in length and of a triangular shape with seven bastions and are now one of the icons of the city. The central square, surrounded by stores, cafes, and restaurants, is dominated by the fountain of the Lions, built by a Venetian governor in the 17th century. The Archaeological Museum at Heraklion is impressive, and it is the pride and joy of the city. The displays are satisfyingly thorough and well laid out; all aspects of life in Crete from prehistory through to the Roman period are covered in a series of spacious galleries. The Palace at Knossos is the second most popular tourist site in all of Greece, second only to the Acropolis. The site is in incredible shape, and there is much to see. It is also in a beautiful setting with great views over the countryside. Heraklion offers a vast array of historic and archaeological holiday attractions, including its world-famous museum and the nearby site of Knossos, the heart of the ancient Minoan civilisation. The shoreline in the city, Amoudara, is a three-kilometre strip of sandy beach, with lots of cafes, bars, and hotels, and the site of Technopolis, a modern multiplex cinema and open-air theatre. The most beautiful beaches outside the city are found in Kartero and Malia.

It has a lovely, romantic town centre with cosy streets, and it’s a great base for touring the Peloponnese. Nafplio was briefly the capital of Greece before the seat of power moved to Athens. It’s an historic city with Byzantine, Venetian and Ottoman heritage, and it played an important role in the Greek Revolution. The centre is full of charm, with small neoclassical houses, squares and churches. At first glance Nafplio can look like an Italian town, thanks to its architecture and colourful buildings. What to see: Characteristic buildings, museums, cultural centres and castles. Enjoy the sea: Very close to the town you’ll find a quiet, sandy beach just south of Palamede Castle hill, where locals gather to swim at this Blue Flag, clean beach. Further south, reachable by local bus or car, there’s a series of marvellous beaches that are very popular in summer. Daily cruises in the Argolic Gulf: If you have time, you can take a cruise that lets you enjoy the sea and the coastal sights of the area, usually including a swim stop. Boats for Bourtzi normally depart once a day in summertime from the promenade.

Conditions to make your reservation, cancellation conditions, boarding requirements...

You are about to book a Celebrity Cruises Cruise on our website, and we believe it is important that you know the different requirements and conditions that this shipping company demands of its customers.

Deposit required and payment

At the time of making your reservation, you will be asked for a deposit payment that will vary depending on the duration of the cruise:

1-5 night cruises: €50 per person

6-8 night cruises: €125 per person

Cruises of +9 nights: €225 per person

Full payment of the reservation

We must receive payment of the outstanding balance on the total price of the cruise (after deducting the amount(s) paid on account) at least 61 days before the departure date, unless you made the reservation with 61 days or less in advance, in which case you must pay the full cost of the cruise at the time of booking.

Cancellation fees

Your trip will be canceled from the date we receive written notice of cancellation. You will have to pay the following cancellation fees.

Cruises and Cruisetours of 1-8 nights:

Cancellations more than 51 days prior to the contracted departure date: refund.

Cancellations between 51 and 32 days:

1 to 5 nights: €50 per person.

6 to 8 nights: €125 per person.

Cancellations between 31 and 10 days: 50% of the total amount.

Cancellations less than 10 days: 100% of the total amount.

Cruises and Cruisetours of 9 or more nights:

Cancellations more than 61 days prior to the contracted departure date: refund.

Cancellations between 61 and 32 days:

9 or more nights: €225 per person.

Cancellations between 31 and 17 days: 50% of the total amount.

Cancellations less than 17 days: 100% of the total amount.

Cruises to the Galapagos Islands:

Celebrity Xpedition and Celebrity Flora ships:

Cancellations more than 122 days prior to the contracted departure date: refund.

Cancellations between 122 and 91 days: costs equivalent to the cruise line's deposit.

Cancellations between 90 and 45 days: 50% of the total amount.

Cancellations between 44 and 24 days: 75% of the total amount.

Cancellations less than 24 days: 100% of the total amount.

Celebrity Xploration ship:

Cancellations more than 182 days prior to the contracted departure date: refund.

Cancellations between 182 and 152 days: costs equivalent to the cruise line's deposit.

Cancellations between 151 and 122 days: 50% of the total amount.

Cancellations between 121 and 92 days: 75% of the total amount.

Cancellations less than 92 days: 100% of the total amount.

For cruises departing on holidays (Christmas, New Year, and Easter), cancellation fees will be the same as indicated according to the duration of the cruise, but applicable to cancellations from 92 days before the departure date.

Administration fees

In the case of cancellation by the holder of the reservation, the management expenses established in the reservation conditions and/or the combined travel contract accepted in the making of this reservation will apply, unless your adviser has A personalized reservation confirmation will be sent a posteriori indicating other conditions related to management expenses because the management of this specific reservation so establishes.
